Following the news that their 8th studio album Thoughts and Observations has entered the Irish charts at number 1, ending Sabrina Carpenter’s 5-week run, Dublin-based indie-rock band The Coronas announce 3 UK dates for June 2025. Starting at Glasgow Stereo on June 4th, the band will play Manchester’s Deaf Institute on June 5th before rounding off the mini-tour on June 6th at The Garage in London.
A multi-platinum group who can claim supporting Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park, playing for President Biden in Co. Mayo, and a burgeoning global fanbase, The Coronas’ recent sold out tours in North America and Australia further showcased the trio’s successful and ever-growing legacy. Renowned for their magnetic live shows, having also been voted as the #1 Live Act of the Year (2023) by Hot Press, The Coronas have been headlining their own shows and festivals in Ireland for almost 15 years, with their regular Christmas performances at The Olympia Theatre in Dublin becoming the stuff of legend. The band will complete 2024 with a further run of dates in North America and Australia before they return home for the sold out Olympia shows and dates in Belfast and Killarney.
“Hey guys, we’re delighted to announce that we’ll be coming back to Glasgow, Manchester and London next June! Our London show will be in the Garage in Islington, which is literally a stone’s throw from where we used to live there! It’s been a while since we’ve played in both Glasgow and Manchester so hopefully you guys haven’t forgotten about us! See ya’s then! Love, Knoxy, Conor and Danny”
Their latest chart-topping album Thoughts and Observations achieved the rare feat of four consecutive number 1s following its September 27th release. A “glorious” record of anthemic songs of “love, loss and growing older” the album reaffirms the band’s status as one of Ireland’s finest musical exports.
Although technically a three-piece, with Danny O’Reilly on vocals, piano and guitar, Graham Knox on bass and Conor Egan on drums, on this album the band embraced the talents of their touring supergroup with Lar Kaye (All Tvvins) on guitar, Cian MacSweeney (True Tides) on saxophone and Roisin O on backing vocals. Produced by Grammy award-winning, long-time collaborator, George Murphy (Mumford and Sons, The Specials, Ellie Goulding) Thoughts & Observations is at times epic, at times delicate, but always authentic and full of emotion.
