Sacred Paws

About Sacred Paws

Sacred Paws, composed of guitarist Rachel Aggs and drummer Eilidh Rodgers, bring a playful, lighthearted approach to both their music and interviews, marked by laughter and thoughtful pauses. Their music blends indie-pop with vibrant world rhythms, characterized by upbeat energy and catchy melodies. Winning the 2017 Scottish Album of the Year award for their debut, Strike A Match, surprised the duo, who have always prioritized fun over ambition.

Their second album, Run Around The Sun, maintains this lively spirit, exploring themes of time and growing up. The album was written more deliberately but still retains Sacred Paws' spontaneous charm. Tracks like The Conversation and Brush Your Hair showcase their overlapping lyrical styles, unintentionally creating poetic depth. Despite their success, Sacred Paws remain focused on enjoying the creative process, with fun and enjoyment at the heart of their music-making.
