The work of John Lowrie Morrison, known as “Jolomo” is instantly recognisable for its style and vibrant colour. He is most commonly known for his paintings of the West coast of Scotland and his iconic red roofed crofts however this exhibition takes us back to where he was first inspired by the colours that have made him renowned for over 50 years.
John’s decision to paint in high-key colour wasn’t made in Kintyre, or on the Isle of Skye, or in any of the places he is famous for painting. It was made in an alpine meadow in Switzerland.
We feel very honoured to be exhibiting a solo show by John and this year marks the first exhibition showcasing work of Switzerland. 'From Switzerland to The Western Isles' tells the story of John’s inspiration and the origin of his high-key colour, taking us on an journey from the Swiss alps to the vast West Coast of Scotland.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
