Join us at Tap into Energy!
Come join as at Coopers for a series of exciting events, where experts in the UK's energy system will be explaining how our energy system works, and what it could be like in the future as we transition to net-zero. The aim is to be accessible, so if you've never thought about what happens when you switch your lights, but want to know more - these events are for you!
Each event will focus on a different topic, and will assume minimal prior knowledge. We'd love it if you came to all three though! Our events should leave you with a greater understanding of the UK energy systems, what's driving energy costs, and what the future could look like!
Session 1: How do we keep the lights on and radiators warm? How we use energy in the UK, and where we get it from. (7 November)
Session 2: What's behind an energy bill? How energy markets in the UK work, and why energy bills seem to be getting higher and higher. (14 November)
Session 3: What could a Net-Zero Energy System Look Like? The future of the energy system and how we get there. (21 November)
So register for this event and come join us, grab a pint and learn about the UK energy system! See you there!
Please note: If you have any accessibility needs, do contact us upon registration at unionsociety-ieee.sb@strath.ac.uk to make arrangements.
Additional Dates: 21 November 2024
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
