Don't miss this special Talk & Tour event to celebrate 60 sparkling years of The King's panto... an unmissable experience for true theatre and history lovers alike!

Tour and Talk: 60 Years of the King’s Panto!

About Tour and Talk: 60 Years of the King’s Panto!

A guided tour of the King's gaining access to areas usually off limits to the public followed by a talk by Dr Paul Malony, theatre historian who has written extensively about Scottish music hall and pantomime.

The King's pantomimes offer a window onto Glasgow and Scotland's fabulous popular theatre history. Begun in 1964 by Howard and Wyndham, the Scottish theatre company famous for their spectacular pantomimes and for producing stars like Stanley Baxter, Rikki Fulton and Jimmy Logan, the talk explores how today's King's productions echo the great Glasgow pantomimes of the past, by combining lavish spectacle and distinctively Scottish humour to fashion the modern King's tradition.
