Short Attention Span puts the spotlight on stand-up for latest show.
Short Attention Span Theatre is hosting its first comedy night on Wednesday 20 November 2024 at The Admiral Woods, 29 Waterloo Street, Glasgow, G2 6BZ – from 7pm.

Proceeds will be used to help fund the work of Short Attention Span Theatre (SAST), which took its first bow in 2015 – dedicated to supporting new voices in theatre.

SAST regularly performs programmes in Ayr, Cumbernauld, Glasgow and beyond – giving audiences the chance to enjoy a magical mix of comedy, drama and thought-provoking themes in their local community.

* Elaine Malcolmson is an award-winning comedian, writer and actor, who has worked for – and appeared on – various TV and radio shows. She has performed all over the place – including the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe and the New York Comedy Festival. Currently a regular on BBC Scotland’s Breaking the News, you may recognise her as Penny from BBC’s fantastic Soft Border Patrol.

* Amanda Dwyer has a deadpan delivery alongside a wicked sense of humour. She regularly performs at comedy clubs all over Scotland and is the creator of the Material Girl comedy show at The Stand Comedy Club, Glasgow. Amanda also provides tour support for Tom Stade.

* Hailing from Coatbridge, via a short stint in Derry, Mick Cullen arrived onto the scene in late 2022 after finally deciding to embrace his natural ability at being a class clown. Mick has been entertaining audiences across Scotland with his stories about being a bald man in his mid-30s, while giving the world a glimpse into how that big round head of his works.
* David Bratchpiece is a comedian, actor and writer who has performed stand-up comedy around the UK, and written for TV and radio. In 2021 he co-authored the critically-acclaimed book ‘Brickwork: A Biography of the Arches’.
