Christingles are made using oranges with a red ribbon wrapped around the centre. It is decorated with sweets and dried fruits and topped with a candle
Christingle - 'Christmas' and 'ingle'. Ingle is an old Scots word for fire and so that would make it mean the 'Christ Light'.
So this short service for families uses a decorated orange to explore the story of God's love for the world.
