Opening event: Saturday 11 January, 4-7pm
Exhibition Hours: 12 - 15 January, 10-4.30pm
You are warmly invited to attend Reflections, an exhibition of photographs and writing produced by the participants of the CAMERA Photowriting Workshops.
CAMERA is a community engagement project led by Dr Alessia Zinnari (Modern Languages, University of Glasgow) and artist Alex Withey. It is grounded in participatory arts research and explores the ways in which photography and writing can help people (re)gain agency over their mind and body, fostering a sense of wellbeing, belonging to place, and human connection. Its first iteration (2023-24) consisted of a series of participant-centred workshops held at the Annexe Community Centre in Partick, Glasgow. Together, we created zines, shared images and stories from the past, learned how to take more meaningful photographs, wrote poems, laughed and cried. This exhibition showcases the works of 10 wonderful people, and celebrates their artistic talent.
Please join us over a glass of wine and some delicious snacks from MILK Cafe on Friday 11th January, or, if you can't make it, come see the exhibition before it closes!
Don't forget to let us know your thoughts through the feedback form you'll find on site scanning the QR code.
This project was made possible by funding from the AHRC, The University of Glasgow, and the Founders Fund for Creatives.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
