Glasgow Soundbath returns once again to The Arlington Baths after the success of our previous events. Join us for soothing and restorative sounds, tones, gongs, chimes and bells. Relax and unwind with us for 90 minutes of wellbeing. This event is open to the public and Arlington Baths members alike.
The Reading Room at the historic Arlington Baths Club is a wonderful, airy and bright space which provides a wonderful atmosphere to the soundbath.
As always, we will have a few spare yoga mats and blankets, but bring your own if you have one.
*Our payment system is modeled on the Green Bottle Scale. We offer three options, and you pay what you can afford.
What Is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a still, meditative experience where those in attendance are immersed in sound waves. These waves are produced by various instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, chimes, rattles and tuning forks. The music is a carefully selected wash of instrument sounds with soothing resonance and overtones. During the sound bath, participants lie comfortably on their backs or sit upright in chairs for the entire experience.
Benefits of Sound Baths?
The intention of this experience is to create a sense of calm in the listener by using sound. Benefits include relaxation, an increased sense of wellbeing and tranquility. Participants often report a reduction in stress and mental busyness. In addition to helping the body relax many people think sound baths and sound healing therapies can foster physical healing.
Who can attend Sound Baths?
Sound baths are for everyone at any stage of their lives. Since participants are lying down or sitting still the entire time, there is no need for athletic ability or flexibility to participate. Sound baths are beneficial for pregnant women, prehab or rehab, old and young, and people who have experienced minor disease, illness or trauma.
