September 2024 saw the start of a journey of celebration and discovery with the launch of the Braille and Beyond Tour which will travel across the UK. This year-long initiative invites you to join braille experts and allies in honouring the 200th anniversary of the braille code's invention and exploring its profound impact in the lives of blind and partially sighted people.
Braille continues to be a gateway to independence, literacy, and cultural connection for millions of blind people worldwide. When we celebrate braille, we celebrate the potential of blind people to live the lives we want without limits.
You are invited to participate in this historic celebration by joining the Braille 200 event at the Mitchell Library on Tuesday 28th January 2025, 10am - 3pm.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
