This workshop will run over a week end in my lovely West end of Glasgow studio on the 17th and 18th May 2025.
If you are interested to create prints only using botanical elements this workshop is for you.
W e will learn the basics of Botanical printing on paper.
W e wll study selection of material, preparation of the material, mordanting cellulose, extracting dyes and Botanical printing using those natural dyes.
W e will use the steaming method and work with a maximum of 3 natural dyes.
W e will work with "The True Colour of the Cotinus" methods for blue prints with Cotinus leaves.
W e will learn to finish our prints for long term colour fastness.
W e will learn to care with our printed materials.
As working as a group we will print on small samples but on the last session we will built a large print.
All material is included as well as tea and coffee but not lunches. If you would like to bring samples of some of the paper you would like to try you will be able to bring some small section to test.
Please note that a good amount of standing will happen during the workshop and my studio is down one flight of stairs unfortunately if you have mobility issues I can not offer you a space.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
