International Women’s Day at GoMA
Celebrate International Women's Day on Saturday 8th March with a day of activities and talks at Glasgow Gallery Of Modern Art!
About International Women’s Day at GoMA
In the morning, families are invited to join us for a specially themed Saturday Art Club, 10:30am-12:30 pm, with different arts and crafts inspired by the fantastic women artists in our exhibitions - DROP IN, no booking needed, recommended ages 5-12.
In the afternoon, we'll have a series of talks by different artists and curators:
1.30pm, Isobel McDonald, Social History Curator – How did the introduction of compulsory education in Scotland after 1872 impact on women and girls?
2:15pm, Kate Davis, Visual Artist
3-3:15pm BREAK, refreshments available
3:15pm, Clare Thompson, Librarian - Women reading and working in Glasgow Libraries.
4pm, Katie Bruce, Producer/Curator – "Domestic Bliss". A tour of Gallery 4 highlighting the work of women artists.
Free, please book a ticket to attend the afternoon talks (whether you plan to attend all of them or just one).
