Loch Lomond Unplugged will showcase talented and passionate buskers and singer/songwriters of all ages, whose dream is to be Scotland’s next big thing and also feature performances by successful artists Ben Walker and Kyle Falconer.
With many of today’s most successful artists starting out as street performers, who through hard work, talent and a little bit of luck, succeeded, we’re excited to uncover amazing talent and contribute, even in a small way, to getting them on their journey to fame and success.
And with a £1000 cash prize, a chance to perform on stage in front of crowds, as well as get in front of music industry experts, it would be mad not to seize this opportunity!
Hosted by well-known Scottish music scene veteran and radio host, Jim Gellatly, the festival will not only feature performances from our hopeful entrants to Unplugged, we’ll also have up and coming Scottish singer songwriter, Ben Walker, performing on Saturday, and on Sunday we’ll have the legendary Kyle Falconer, singer songwriter and former lead vocalist of The View performing on stage!
And while all the on-stage action is at the festival on the 24th and 25th May between 10am and 5pm, the event begins long before then with a call out to local and national buskers to start their potential journey to stardom. They will send in a video of one of their performances no later than 2nd May so that our music industry experts – including Jim and Kyle - can judge them and select 16 finalists to perform at the festival on Saturday. Then, through judging by our experts and a public online vote, the 16 will become eight, who will perform again on Sunday 25th with the winner being announced at the end of the festival.
Full details of how to apply to be in with a chance of winning are available at www.lochlomondfoodanddrinkfestival.co.uk
As well as cracking performances by our hopefuls throughout, Lomond Unplugged will also have lots of things to see and do for all the family, including stalls to browse filled with fresh produce, gifts and more, as well as delicious street food to enjoy and children’s rides. There will also be all the great things Loch Lomond Shores has to offer including boat tours, adventure golf, Loch Lomond SEA LIFE Aquarium, water sports & bike hire, as well as our stores, restaurants and cafes, all set against the backdrop of Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond in the distance.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
