nonclassical ventures north to present a mix of eclectic sounds coming from three Glasgow-based, Scottish artists. Harry Górski-Brown, Isa Gordon and Norman Willmore will each perform solo sets featuring electronics, bagpipes, saxophone, vocals and more from three of Scotland's leading experimental artists. As seen at the Southbank Centre, Unsound Kraków, Celtic Connections, Météo Festival, AB Brussels, and Centro Pecci. Heard on Optimo, GLARC, Wild Raver, and nonclassical.
Harry Górski-Brown:
HGB is an artist based in Glasgow. With a focus on producing electroacoustic music, often as settings of traditional Scottish songs and performed using voice, pipes, fiddle and electronics, he is a nonclassical artist-in-residence and Cryptic artist. Recent ventures include Durt Dronemaker After Dreamboats - an album of old Gaelic songs and Elephant, you shake your sheep! a project for amplified big pipes with French artist Annabelle Playe.
Isa Gordon:
Ayrshire-bred, Glasgow-based artist, honing a surreal sonic palette juggling as much from Glasgow's experimental club history as it does from tightly-structured dance music, Scottish folk, punk and electronica. A producer and lyricist, cherry-picking the medium to serve the message. Her debut album For You Only (2022) and EP Clyde Falls (2023) were released on Optimo Music. Isa is moreover a collaborator, remixer, performer, and DJ.
Norman Willmore:
A musician born on a kitchen floor in the Shetland Islands. He is now in Glasgow living and working somewhere between the worlds of jazz, electronic, and traditional Scottish music with an emphasis on saxophone, keys, and production. As well as releasing three albums under his own name, Norman has often been spotted with the likes of Beth Orton, Peatbog Faeries and corto.alto, and features on recordings from many of Glasgow’s contemporary jazz luminaries.
