About Drawing Life
We run fun and inspiring life drawing groups and affordable workshops for all levels of abilities and anyone wanting to take part.
MONDAYS: WESTEND PORTRAIT CLUB
Join Drawing Life as we host a portrait drawing evening every Monday in the Westend @ the Poets Corner - Hillhead Bookclub between 7pm-9pm.
These classes are suitable for all abilities and everyone is encouraged to attend. We offer tuition guiding you through a structured approach to rendering the model which is ideal for complete beginners who are often daunted at the thought of portraiture. The Poets Corner offers a characterful and intimate setting with a relaxed atmosphere and over the course of the two hours there will be a range of short and long poses with breaks. These sessions will include all materials but feel free to bring along your own favourite supplies to work with!
The Hillhead Bookclub has a bar for refreshments and those attending the class can also take advantage of {Meat Free Monday} 25% discount for all veggie & vegan food.
Tickets are £8/£6 (Concessions for students with ID)
As this is a smaller venue we advise buying in advance through the ticket link to avoid disappointment!
WEDNESDAYS: SOUTHSIDE LIFE DRAWING
Southside life drawing group happens Wednesdays at McNeills
We would like to invite you to join us and draw from 6:30-8:30pm.
We will work on shorter poses for an hour, followed by a 20min break and finish up with a series of longer poses.
We encourage you to bring along your own materials but will have boards and some materials available. We will be working with +1 model for every 20 pre-booked tickets, we count class numbers 48 hrs prior to the event to confirm models, some tickets will be available on the door as well but we will cap the event at 40 so you potentially have the chance to draw from multiple models!
THURSDAY: WESTEND LIFE DRAWING
Our Westend weekly life drawing group hosted at the Drawing Life Studio, each week we will take on a new theme or idea focusing on the human figure.
We aim to challenge those who attend, to further their idea of how a life drawing class should be and in doing so hope to encourage you to create ever more compelling and considered work.
Each week, the drawing life session will be structured differently, starting early in the month with shorter poses and working towards longer poses at later dates in the month. There will be separate events with more information about particular dates.
The studio is not very large, and we only seat enough people so everyone can fully see the model, which is usually around 15 drawers.
We will give the observer a chance to observe something very intimate. Hoping that the atmosphere will be encapsulated within their works.
The session starts at 6:30 but do arrive 15 mins early to be seated.
These sessions are £8 or £6 for students, we provide Materials; charcoal, pencils, paper, and drawing boards (there is a donations tin for the paper used) but please feel free to bring sketchbooks and any other medium you like to make marks with.
There are also refreshments available.
And BYOB for £2 corkage
It's a 16+ event
We Look forward to seeing you there.
