The teacher has been practicing martial arts for 30 years and holds a 4th dan in Aikido and a 2nd dan in Karate. There is a variety of high grades and beginners in the class allowing anyone to join in no matter what your level or capability. Beginners are always welcomed.
We are members of Aikido UK , which is a non-profit making organisation that aims to cultivate and develop the co-ordination of mind and body using the principles of Ki. It was founded in May 2000 by Sensei William Andrew.
The head instructor of our club is Sensei Richard Firestone (4th Dan) who is assisted by his student Ronnie Smith (3nd Dan).
We teach Aikido twice a week at the Kelvin Hall Sports Centre:
Sunday - 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Wednesday - 8:15pm to 9:45pm
Aikido empty hand forms, Bokken, Jo and tanto techniques are all taught. Self defense and how to deal with multiple attackers. We also cover the principles of Ki - with mind and body coordination.
Senshin Dojo is an aikido dojo very near the city centre of Glasgow following the teaching of Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan.
