Little Greene Yoga runs classes for adults, children, teenagers and postnatal mums as part of its weekly timetable. They offer a full program for primary and secondary school, including in-house training for school teachers around central scotland – “Yoga for all stages of life”.
Veronica is passionate about teaching yoga and feels extremely fortunate to have been teaching some of her younger students for more than 12 years. As the children have evolved both mentally and physically so has the ”Little Greene Yoga” syllabus which combines her classical yoga training with fun techniques aimed at stimulating each specific age group. She believes that children can be taught the connection between body and mind, gain valuable life tools and respect for themselves if the class is tailored to their individual needs.
Her Adult classes are taught with the same passion!
Yoga For Children 3 - 12 years
Little Greene Yoga classes for children have been running in the Southside of Glasgow since 2003.
Over the past 19 years the classes have been tried, tested and adjusted until the present syllabus was developed.
This programme is not only fun but helps develops the children physically, emotionally and mentally.
Each developmental stage encourages the child to work to their full potential in a safe environment.
Classes are inclusive, fun and educational helping the child to build a toolbox of techniques to keep them healthy and deal with stress of modern day life.
Only fully Affiliated Little Greene Yoga instructors, or studios, can use the full developmental certification programme. This programme keeps them motivated, and continuously learning, from 3yrs-12yrs, which encourages the children to remain focused and motivated on yoga throughout.
Caution: The Little Greene Yoga Programme has been known to peak a lifetime commitment to yoga.
Yoga For Teenagers
Being a teenager is tough!
This class provides a welcome solution to exam stress, peer pressure and social anxiety, while keeping fit and having fun.
Teenagers more than anyone need to release the everyday stresses and pressures of their lives.
Their bodies are changing at an accelerated pace, hormones are suddenly active and emotions are rampant and uncontrollable. Throw into the mix the preoccupation with body image and the stress of fitting in.
Yoga can help them create and develop a nurturing internal voice to encourage each individual to be all they can be, while accepting what they are not.
It encourages self-awareness and understanding by addressing the connection between body and mind.
Students are encouraged to explore the potential of their bodies, acknowledge their power to adapt to change and notice the connection between the physical, mental and inner peace.
Little Greene Yoga - TEEN Mind & Body class helps each student with the transition through the teenage years. The class is conducted in a safe, warm and fun environment.
Students are educated in the benefits of each posture; the effects on their immune system, nervous system and endocrine system. There are regular discussions on how yoga can be used to reduce stress, change emotions while strengthen the body.
By educating teens on how to use yoga to reduce stress in their everyday lives you are giving them lifelong tools for their journey ahead.
Postnatal Yoga Classes
Rebuild your body using Yoga post maternity. Suitable for all new Mums.
There are plenty of classes for your baby but only one where the focus is entirely on you.
Working on the stomach muscles and pelvic floor is incredibly important after giving birth but is not the whole picture.
During pregnancy the arches in the feet have flattened; lower back muscles have shortened; stomach muscles have become overstretched; hips have lost their connection; chest muscles have tightened and quite probably the head is in a forward position.
The Postnatal Body rebuild will start from the feet up to put everything back into its correct anatomical alignment.
Muscles that have shortened will be lengthened; weakened muscles strengthen and of course we will also work the stomach and the pelvic floor.
All of this and you will rebuild your confidence by connecting physically and mentally with your new body and life and love it!
DID YOU KNOW
• The arches of the feet connect to the pelvic floor
• Kegels are not the best way to work on pelvic floor issues
• placement of you foot will affect you pelvic alignment and pelvic floor
• everyone has a diastasis rectus (separated tummy muscles) immediately after giving birth
• You can make your diastatis recti permanent or worse by poor posture and poor exercise choices
• scar tissue heals with increased blood flow and exercise
• even woman who have had a c-section need to work their pelvic floor.
The class is conducted in a supportive environment, with women who are at the same life stage as you. No babysitter is required as you bring your baby with you. If your baby won’t leave your arms, you can still take part in the class. If your baby needs to feed, then you feed. Although the class is for mothers, there will be plenty of opportunity to bond with your baby, as your baby will lie beside you throughout.
Little Greene Yoga postnatal classes are run on a 6-week block basis on Thursday mornings in “The Yoga Practice”, Mount Florida. Southside Glasgow.
(Please note that these classes are not offered on a drop-in basis – The 6-week block acts as a mutual contract between teacher and student to commit to re-strengthening your body to help it return to its pre-pregnancy state.)
Homework will be given with the additional aid of video demonstrations to help.
Each class is progressive and tailored to each individual body and stage.
Booking is necessary as most woman will stay for more than one block.
