Movement Park (SCIO) aims to make a significant impact on people’s lives. As Glasgow’s first purpose built facility for movement competencies, Movement Park will work within the G14 postal code area, but will also reach out to the wider Glasgow community. At Movement Park we will endeavour to have a strong identity for developing a culture of aspiration; inspiring the youth of tomorrow, and developing communities’ growth mindset that put each person’s development at the heart of every experience.
The sports clubs and services offered are well positioned to deliver a positive sporting and activity agenda that is capable of bringing a variety of approaches, which are person centered, and able to deliver measurable outcomes around a range of life skills. The charity will complete active outreach within the local area, targeting schools in particular, to demonstrate the ethos of Movement Park.
Our vision is to create a culture where the wealth of the community is judged on the health of the community. We will educate all those that come through the doors of our multi-sport facility, or that access our outreach programmes, on the importance of physical literacy, engagement in sport and staying active for life.
We will create a charity that is second to none at understanding the nature and nurturing process of movement competencies, designing innovative programmes that enhance the lives of the local community.
We will establish a hub that is warm and welcoming, allowing creative opportunities to develop friendships, experience engagement and offer many chances for people development. This will encourage each individual to reach his or her full potential and leave as a well-rounded responsible citizen.
