The Venue lays claim some of the most visually striking architectural features in the city while also boasting a fully licensed bar and kitchen for up to 225 people, a range of audio-visual options and friendly expert staff. The Savings Bank works hard to combine the opulent neoclassical style of the building with cutting edge events management to create the perfect venue for all occasions.
Construction of the current premises began in 1889 with the vision of transforming a simple hatters shop into a radical new savings bank that would work to put pennies back into the pockets of Glasgow’s working class. The Victorian building features a host of architectural curiosities from a lost Glasgow. After a change in ownership, The Savings Bank went on to become a raucous Greek restaurant and then a notorious poker den, each iteration leaving its unique mark on the venue.
Now Available for private functions and corporate events, The Savings bank offers a range of bespoke options for all manner of experiences.
The Savings Bank is expertly managed by ‘Inhouse’ the Glasgow based venue and event solutions company. Inhouse manage a portfolio of venues including; The Savings Bank, The 1873 Market Hall in The Briggait & Queens Park Arena. Inhouse also supply staff and support the operations of over 30 established venues on a weekly basis as well as many one-off events across the UK.
