Sunday 12th December is the date for a special brunch being held at Embargo in the city’s west end where Sophie Gravia shares hilarious anecdotes from her laugh-out-loud bestselling romcom about modern dating that everyone's been talking about in 2021.
A Glasgow Kiss is filthy, foul-mouthed, funny and painfully relatable. Zara Smith is Bridget Jones for the millennial generation, from the writer of the Sex in the Glasgow City blog this is one fans of Fleabag, Girls and Lucy Vine will love.
Even though her work as a nurse meant gruelling shifts working in hospital and being a mum, Sophie found time to write the book, find her own editor and illustrator, she then self-published on Amazon and the rest is history.
Sophie Gravia said: “I’m thrilled to be taking part in this special brunch event at Embargo where I’ll be doing a short reading and looking forward to doing a q+a with journalist Carla Jenkins, it’ll be fun and I’ll be signing copies of my book too – it’s the perfect Christmas present for your girlfriends!”
Callum Raymond Young, GM of Embargo said: “This Christmas we wanted to support a local charity and we’ll be donating £5 from every ticket sold to Beatson Cancer Charity, it’s going to be a fun filled brunch, that’s for sure!”
Joyce Ross, Fundraiser at Beatson Cancer Charity said: “We’re delighted to be supported by the team at Embargo and look forward to hearing from Sophie and finding out how she combines being a mum, nurse and writing a best-selling novel.”
Tickets priced £25 are on sale now and include a choice of two drinks, from this list Prosecco, Aperol Spritz, Mimosa, Bloody Mary, Asahi Bottle and a brunch dish, either Asian Florentine, Salt Beef Benedict or Smashed Avocado and Tofu Bao Buns.
The event runs from 9.30am-12.30 and tickets priced £25 and includes brunch and two drinks. £5 from every ticket goes to Beatson Cancer Charity.
