The Food Awards Scotland 2022 recognised the success of local professionals and establishments that continue to deliver great flavours and experiences to their customers.
The Glasshouse, Kilmaurs, combines the best of modern and traditional for contemporary dining in the breath taking surroundings of Rowallan’s 600-acre estate.
An outstanding Colin Montgomerie designed championship golf course and two stunning castles that help make it one of Scotland’s most exclusive wedding venues & staycation retreats along with a restaurant that’s fast becoming one of the country’s favourites, Rowallan offers an experience not to be missed.
Last year, the business lead by siblings George, 32 and Katy Campbell, 28 was highly commended and now in 2022 they proudly bagged the award for Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year, beating big competition from the likes of The Gannet, Number 16, Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond and Geoffrey’s Smeddle’s Old Peat Inn.
Executive chef Ian Mackie heads up a strong team of talented individuals who have been cooking up a storm, picking up accolades along the way.
Ian formerly of The Buttery, said: “We love what we produce here in Ayrshire and we’re proud to source only the best local suppliers to ensure that only the freshest ingredients make it onto your plate. Not only does the food taste great, it means our menus transition with the seasons, allowing us to innovate and present the very best of Scotland.”
Katy who heads up Weddings & Events said: “We’re thrilled for our team to be recognised and celebrated, we’ve worked tirelessly to retain all our team throughout the many challenges of the last few years and this has ensured consistency with our offering. This accolade is a tremendous boost!”
George said: “We’d like to thank the judges, all our suppliers for supporting us. Our team for sticking with us and of course to our patrons, we do this for you. We’re very grateful to guests who choose to celebrate their special occasions with us. It’s a privilege to be able to host weddings, golfing events and dinners where special memories are created.”
With a wide range of contemporary dishes and Scottish culinary classics on offer a trip to The Glasshouse comes with the highest recommendations for lunch, brunch, afternoon tea or dinner
