With the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow and across Scotland just 10 days away, Glasgow has today unveiled more details of its exciting citywide GO LIVE! programme.

Funded by Glasgow City Council and organised by Glasgow Life, the broad range of cultural and community participation events will take place across the full 11 days of competition (3-13 August).

The GO LIVE! brand has proved a popular feature of previous major events in Glasgow. Like the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2018 European Championships the city is ensuring there are ways for everyone, whether sports fans or not, to get involved, soak up the atmosphere and have some fun.

This free programme of activity promotes cycling and wellbeing to different audiences, and encourages healthy and active lifestyles across sport, culture and the arts. It will showcase ways to get involved in cycling in the community and provide tangible opportunities for Glasgow’s citizens to connect with this world-class cycling event, with local event activity in the Northeast, Northwest, and South of the city.

CHECK OUT SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF GO LIVE!:

GO LIVE! at Tollcross on Saturday 5 August, bringing a taste of the UCI Cycling World Championships out to the heart of the community at Tollcross International Swimming Centre. 'Come and try' our cycling activations with some exciting surprises and entertainment throughout the day.

Our Artists in Communities are hosting a range of GO LIVE! activities in various locations including:

Throughout every day of the event, the city’s civic square will be transformed into a venue showcasing the best of Glasgow’s and Scotland’s music scene, including contributions from Celtic Connections, Piping Live, Glasgow Mela and many other great bands. www.cyclingworldchamps.com

GO LIVE! at the Road Race will see vibrant street arts entertainment combined with Road Race viewing areas to create a vibrant weekend competition hub that appeals to all on 5/6 and 12/13 August. Come and experience the thrill of the Road Races as the world class cyclists whizz past three key locations (Argyle Street, Kelvingrove, City of Glasgow College) on their multiple laps of the city whilst being entertained by some of the best street performances in Scotland.
