Experience Glasgow Food & Drink has launched (today) the Glasgow Beer Trail, the second instalment in their Experience Glasgow trails series, to mark the start of Autumn.
Following the resounding success of the Glasgow Coffee Trail, this latest new tourism experience has been designed to be the ultimate beer-lover's guide to Glasgow. The new trail promises an opportunity to connect with the local beer community and uncover the city's best-kept craft beer secrets.
The free, self-guided trail, commissioned by the city’s Regional Food Group, Experience Glasgow Food & Drink and developed by Walking Tours in Glasgow, takes beer lovers on a journey through the city's most impressive breweries, independent retailers and rich beer heritage.
A specially designed digital map and accompanying website, is the ultimate guide to Glasgow’s incredible beer landscape, featuring a curated selection of 14 of the city's most outstanding breweries, ranging from iconic institutions like Tennent Caledonian Breweries Ltd. to innovative craft pioneers like Drygate Brewing Co. and Hidden Lane brewery. Craft beer enthusiasts can also explore the unique offerings of Simple Things Fermentations and satisfy their beer cravings at top craft beer retailers, like independently-owned, Grunting Growler.

Key highlights of the Glasgow Beer Trail include:
• Brewery Exploration: Participants will be taken on a journey to discover some of Glasgow's finest breweries, including renowned institutions like Tennent Caledonian Breweries Ltd., the pioneers at Drygate Brewing Co., the creative masterminds at Hidden Lane, and the innovators at Simple Things Fermentations. Some breweries also offer fascinating beer tours - don’t miss the chance to go behind-the scenes to find out more.
• Craft Beer Retailers: The trail also leads you to some of the city's most iconic craft beer retailers, where you can discover and purchase unique craft beers and exclusive lines. Head to Grunting Growler, a must-visit for craft beer aficionados.
• Historical Landmarks: Beyond the beer, the Glasgow Beer Trail delves into the city's rich history and cultural heritage. Participants will explore landmarks and neighbourhoods, gaining a deeper understanding of the city's evolution and character. The trail covers Glasgow city centre, the West End, East End and South.
