The bars, restaurants and roof terrace of the Glasgow institution transformed into a magical one-stop winter wonderland.
Memories will be made as The Chip brings its festive campaign to life across its popular interconnected spaces, with the cobbled streets and oh-so-Christmassy charm of Ashton Lane greeting visitors on arrival, before leading them into and upwards throughout The Chip. Delicious and decadent dining, bustling bars, a lively convivial atmosphere, roaring log fires, shimmering décor and a cosy heated rooftop terrace await those who visit.
Across the festive period, Ubiquitous Chip’s cute-and-cool Corner Bar will transform into a warm and welcoming indoor-outdoor, on-street pitstop for visitors to Ashton Lane, with warming Christmas classics on offer as part of a grotto including mulled wine, Bailey’s hot chocolate, and hot toddy.
Few Scottish dining destinations enjoy such affection and enduring popularity as Ubiquitous Chip and food is most certainly calling this Christmas in both The Restaurant and Upstairs at The Chip.
Brimming with the seasonality synonymous with The Chip, The Restaurant Set Festive Menu at £60 per person spans a delicious geography of taste and includes Eyemouth crab, Tweed Valley rib eye, Shetland cod, Cumbrian Turkey, Lanark blue, and Manjari chocolate.
The famed provenance continues with the relaxed charm of the Upstairs at The Chip Set Menu at £45 per person. Expect a taste sensation across Scottish classics-with-a-twist including turkey schnitzel with roasted sprouts and pancetta, hake fillet with smoked haddock cream, sesame roast cauliflower with crispy rice and cashew, the Chip’s eternally popular venison haggis, neeps, tatties and whisky sauce, clootie dumpling and eggnog, and cranberry and poppyseed sponge trifle.
The Chip’s dining spaces, with their lush foliage and plants, koi carp filled pond, Alasdair Gray murals and other striking artworks, original cobblestone floor, glass roof…the entirety of which has been transformed into a shimmering, twinkling, fantastical winter wonderland…presents an extraordinary journey of food this Christmas.
Continuing The Chip’s relaxed and sociable myriad of connected spaces is The Big Pub upstairs. A bustling all-ages den of chatter, with a roaring fire and sweeping drinks list, revellers can enjoy a new festive cocktail list including knockout creations including Mulled Negroni; a Christmas spin on the classic, Baby Sham; made in the house, tastes like the original, and Chris Cringle; a short boozy drink to warm you up. And, as the West End’s only rooftop drinking and dining spot, The Rooftop Terrace promises to elevate your Merry Little Chipmas further with heaters, cosy blankets, vibey candlelight and seriously top tunage.
As 2023 moves into 2024, and as Scotland unites to celebrate the age-old tradition of Hogmanay, the Ubiquitous Chip will be a scene of unforgettable magic and memories. Be part of The Chip’s extended family and bring in the bells with friends and loved ones at this Scottish icon. The Restaurant Hogmanay Tasting Menu and Hogmanay Vegetarian Tasting Menu at £160 per person presents Champagne on arrival and seven truly elevated courses to mark the occasion. One floor up, the Upstairs at The Chip Hogmanay Menu at £100 per person offers an equally delicious three courses and prosecco on arrival. A bagpiper will greet guests at this most traditional of all Scottish rituals, followed by live music from The StereoBeats.
