TRNSMT Festival has revealed the first wave of acts on its lineup for 2024, unveiling huge headliners performing across the festival from 12th - 14th July.
150,000 festival goers will descend on Glasgow Green for the seventh year of Scotland’s biggest live music event and fans should set their alarms for 9am on Friday 24th November to get their hands on tickets. For those who can't wait until then, fans on the TRNSMT database have access to the festival presale from 5pm on Wednesday 22nd November.
FRIDAY: Rock icon Liam Gallagher will head up the main stage on the opening day, where he will celebrate 30 years of Oasis’ legendary first album ‘Definitely Maybe’ by playing the album in full. Talking about his upcoming headline slot.
Liam Gallagher said: “Can’t wait to return to Glasgow Green next Summer to headline TRNSMT. I'll be playing songs from Definitely Maybe as well as some solo stuff. See you there.”
Scottish-American band Garbage will wow fans with their hits in what could be their last performance in Scotland, and The Snuts will be gearing up for an exhilarating set following the success of their number one album and two huge sold out shows at SWG3 Galvanizers Yard this summer. Indie pop singer Declan McKenna will take to the stage to treat Friday fans to a funky performance, coming shortly after the release of his 2024 album ‘What Happened to the Beach?’.
Example will bring the party on Friday when he headlines the King Tut’s Stage with a high energy performance and the crowd will be dancing when iconic girlband, Sugababes take to the stage with their hits and new music expected in 2024.
Pop-rock band Picture This join the bill hot off the back of their sold out 2023 tour as well as London quintet indie rock band The Last Dinner Party who will wow the Glasgow crowd with their debut album which is set to be released a few months before their performance.
SATURDAY: Legendary live performer Gerry Cinnamon will be making his triumphant return to TRNSMT 2024. Headlining the main stage for the first time since 2019, the multi-platinum recording artist makes a highly anticipated return after his two record breaking shows at Hampden Park Stadium in Summer 2022.
Talking of his appearance at TRNSMT, Gerry Cinnamon said: “Get hounded on the daily to do TRNSMT again, well hound no more. On Saturday 13th July there’s going to be a big lovely summer sing song. See you there.”
Mancunian four-piece Courteeners, who have said that their most memorable gigs are always in Glasgow, will also bring the Saturday to life after recently becoming the third band in history to top the charts with a reissue of their debut album. TRNSMT revellers will be in for a treat on Saturday as 80’s pop legend Rick Astley - who counts Foo Fighters as some of his biggest fans - brings his timeless hits to Glasgow crowds.
Homegrown talent, Dylan John Thomas will join the bill on Saturday after recently performing a three-night sell out run of shows at Barrowland Ballroom earlier this month. Soulful singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot will make his TRNSMT debut after supporting Ed Sheeran through his 2023 tour and joining him is cheeky Irish folk band, The Mary Wallopers, who propelled to fame after streaming concerts from their living room during lockdown, whilst lyrical talent CMAT will perform a pitch-perfect Saturday set.
SUNDAY: Closing the festival will be a hotly anticipated set from Scottish superstar Calvin Harris, who is returning to Scotland to take to the TRNSMT main stage for the very first time after a sell-out Ibiza residency. The artist has produced two of the biggest anthems of 2023 with ‘Miracle’ and ‘Desire’ and will bring TRNSMT to a close for one more year. Following the success of their 2023 album ‘2 RUFF, Vol. 1’, Chase & Status will be providing the crowd with an electric set that will up the ante on the final day of the festival.
Sunday will also see Tom Grennan add Glasgow to his string of 2024 UK dates, following the release of his second number one album, ‘What Ifs and & Maybes’. Stockport indie four-piece Blossoms are also making a well anticipated return to Glasgow Green two years after their last appearance in the city. Rock band Enter Shikari will get the crowd going with their TRNSMT debut and, also taking to the Glasgow stage for the first time in 2024 is South African singer Baby Queen.
Many more acts are still to be added to the King Tut’s Stage and fans can expect the return of the River Stage and Boogie Wonderland.
Following its popularity in 2023, TRNSMT will offer a range of VIP experiences and fans can find out more about these at www.trnsmtfest.com.
Geoff Ellis, Festival Director of TRNSMT, said: “After welcoming one of the best crowds TRNSMT has ever seen in 2023 and we can’t wait to have everyone back for the 7th year of incredible live music.
“We’ve created the dream lineup for a lot of our TRNSMT fans and there are plenty more acts to be announced - but we couldn’t wait to reveal festival favourites Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris, who are kicking off our biggest lineup yet.
“Next year is expected to be a sell-out, so get your hands on tickets now to avoid disappointment.”
Fans can sign up for presale before 5pm on Wednesday 22nd November. Weekend tickets start from £275 and prices shown include booking and transaction fee. Tickets will then be available from www.trnsmtfest.com from Friday 24th November.
