It’s party time at El Perro Negro! To mark the 5th birthday of their legendary Woodlands Road restaurant, Glasgow’s beloved burger joint is celebrating with a mouthwatering promotion on Saturday, October 19th—and you won’t want to miss it!
Starting at 12pm, El Perro Negro will be giving away 100 free burgers—first come, first serve. That’s right, 100 lucky people will get their hands on the Oklahoma Smash, a juicy smash patty creation with finely sliced onions, gooey burger cheese, and house pickles. This one’s a special birthday treat, so we recommend getting down early to claim yours!
But the party doesn’t stop there.
If you’re not one of the first 100, don’t worry! The Oklahoma Smash will also be available as a special all weekend long during their new extended weekend opening hours from 12-9pm on Saturday and Sunday, so you can still get a bite of the birthday action.
And last, but definitely not least, as part of the celebration, El Perro Negro is also launching limited-edition merch. The highlight? A brand new t-shirt featuring an exclusive design by renowned Glasgow graffiti artists Ciaran Globel and Conzo Throb. The t-shirts will be priced at £26 and will be available to buy from the Woodlands Road restaurant, making them the perfect gift for all burger fans!
2024 has also seen further celebrations for El Perro Negro, scooping their 4th accolade at the Prestigious National Burger Awards. They were invited to compete in the ‘Champion of Champions’ in September to celebrate the awards’ 10th anniversary along with 30 other past winners from the last 10 years.
Founder Nick Watkins fought it out cooking live for the judges and was crowned runner up. Making the Top Dog officially one of the TOP 3 burgers in the UK of the last 10 years!! An incredible accomplishment for a small Glasgow independent.
"It’s been an incredible 5 years of serving up some of Glasgow’s best burgers, and we’re grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way," says Nick Watkins, founder of El Perro Negro. "We’ve won awards, collaborated with some incredible chefs and brands, and had the pleasure of sharing our love for great food with this amazing city. We’re excited to see where the next 5 years will take us!"
Don’t miss out on the chance to join the celebrations and grab some of the best burgers in town. Whether you’re a long-time fan or trying El Perro Negro for the first time, this is the perfect weekend to stop by!
