Scottish school-feeding charity Mary’s Meals is set to host a Christmas market in Glasgow city centre to signal the start of the festive season.
After a successful inaugural event in 2023, the Mary’s Meals Christmas Market is returning to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Saturday, 30 November and Sunday, 1 December.
Visitors will be able to start their Christmas shopping at the event with a fantastic selection of stalls run by charity volunteers and small Scottish businesses alike. Shoppers will be able to browse gifts for family, friends and loved ones, including homemade jewellery, art, homeware, cards, crafts, children's books, food and more.
Heart FM presenter and Scottish media personality Jennifer Reoch will also be on hand to help light-up the Mary’s Meals Christmas tree and sprinkle festive cheer on the Saturday afternoon.
Proceeds from the event will help Mary’s Meals to serve nutritious school meals to hungry children living in some of the world’s poorest countries every school day.
Mary’s Meals feeds more than 2.4 million children every school day in 17 countries including India, Lebanon and Malawi. The promise of a nutritious meal encourages children into the classroom where they can gain an education and hope for a brighter future.
Morven Macgillivray, Supporter Engagement Manager at Mary’s Meals, says: “Last year’s Christmas market was such a success and we can’t wait to do it again this year!
“As well as market stalls where you can pick up presents including arts and crafts, jewellery, stocking fillers and Christmas decorations, we’ll be hosting drop-in crafting and children’s storytelling sessions, a Christmas-themed photo background, games, a raffle and tombola.
“It’ll be great to welcome everyone to the Royal Concert Hall for a weekend of festive fun for all the family, all in aid of helping us reach the next hungry child with Mary’s Meals.”

It costs just £19.15 to feed a child with Mary’s Meals for an entire school year. For more information about Mary’s Meals, please visit www.marysmeals.org.uk
