The culinary world owes a delicious debt to Shish Mahal, proud to claim its place in history as the inventor of the original Hot Sauce in 1964. Crafted with passion, spice, and a secret blend of bold flavours, our signature hot sauce continues to be the gold standard—the best sauce in the world.
In celebration of their rich heritage and the vibrant hot sauce culture that has emerged globally, Shish Mahal is thrilled to announce the inaugural Shish Mahal SauceOff Festival, coming in Summer 2025. This event will be a friendly competition and a celebration of the most innovative and exciting artisan hot sauces from across the UK and beyond.
“Hot sauce is more than a condiment—it’s a story of passion, innovation, and a love of spice,” said Kalsoom Akhtar, COO and PR & Marketing Director of Shish Mahal. “Since inventing it in 1964, we’ve been proud to inspire generations of spice lovers, and the SauceOff Festival is our way of bringing this incredible community together to highlight the artistry behind every bottle.”
The Shish Mahal SauceOff Festival will feature:
• A friendly sauce competition for artisan producers to showcase their finest creations.
• Tasting sessions where guests can experience a world of fiery flavours.
• Workshops and demonstrations from leading hot sauce artisans and spice experts.
• A family-friendly celebration with food, music, and entertainment inspired by the spirit of spice.
More details, including how hot sauce makers can participate and ticket information, will be announced in Spring 2025.
“Our journey with hot sauce began over 60 years ago, and today, it’s a global phenomenon,” added Akhtar. “We look forward to welcoming everyone—whether you’re a seasoned sauce creator or just discovering your love of heat—to join us in celebrating the art of spice at its finest.”
