Visitors can expect a curated selection of one-of-a-kind gems: squinty prints, wobbly pots, experimental paintings and off-cuts galore. Many stall holders will be offering discounted prices on limited edition, test or overstocked items.
This market event is a great opportunity to support independent creators and purchase sustainably made one-off works of art. Among those in attendance to sell are painters, ceramicists, textile artists, print makers, jewellers and glass makers from across Glasgow and beyond.
Caitlin Callaghan, Wasps’ Project Coordinator and the organiser of the event, has said: “We're very excited to be hosting the Spring Clean Artists and Makers Market at the weekend. I’ve had a first look at what’s in store, and there’s some amazing stock lined up from the stall holders, with lots of affordable and sustainably made options.”
The Spring Clean Artists and Makers Market is free entry and all are welcome. Coffee and food will be on offer in the newly renovated café space that forms part of the Clydeside Market Halls development, which is a project led by Wasps Studios to restore the entirety of The Briggait and bring it back into public use for the first time in over 50 years.
Visit The Briggait on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April, 11am–5pm for the Wasps’ Spring Clean Artists and Maker Market.
